Supporting Recovery at SGH: Breastcare and Compression Solutions for Patients

Comfort matters, especially after surgery. Confidence matters too.

Recently, our team had the privilege of visiting Singapore General Hospital (SGH) to share practical breastcare solutions that can support patients through recovery, from post-mastectomy support to compression care for post-surgery swelling.

A meaningful session with SGH nurses and doctors

During the session, our Product Specialist spoke with SGH nurses and doctors about the importance of well-fitted breastcare products, and how the right support can make a real difference in a patient’s day-to-day comfort and emotional wellbeing.

The goal was simple: to equip healthcare professionals with clear, patient-friendly options they can consider when supporting individuals after breast surgery.

Breast prostheses and post-mastectomy bras: Support beyond the clinic

One key focus of the talk was our range of prosthetic breasts and post-mastectomy bras, and how they can help patients regain a sense of normalcy during recovery.

For many patients, the post-surgery period can come with physical discomfort, sensitivity, and changes in body image. Breast prostheses and post-mastectomy bras can play a helpful role by providing:

  • Better balance and posture support during daily activities

  • Comfort and coverage for sensitive areas post-surgery

  • A more secure fit, so patients feel stable and confident when moving around

  • Clothing fit support, helping some patients feel more like themselves again

Our specialist also shared considerations that matter in real life, such as choosing materials that feel gentle on skin, ensuring bras are supportive without being restrictive, and selecting shapes and styles that match different lifestyles and recovery needs.

Compression garments for post-surgery swelling and recovery

Another important segment covered compression garment solutions, which can be helpful for managing post-surgery swelling and supporting recovery, depending on a patient’s clinical needs and care plan.

Compression is often used in the post-operative phase to support:

  • Swelling management after surgery

  • Comfort and tissue support during healing

  • Gentle, consistent pressure to help patients feel more secure during movement

Our team shared how different garment types and compression levels can be considered, and why proper fitting, wear schedule guidance, and patient comfort are essential for better compliance and outcomes.

Why education and collaboration matters

What we appreciated most was the thoughtful discussion with the SGH team. When nurses and doctors are aware of practical, wearable solutions, it becomes easier to guide patients toward options that can improve comfort and quality of life after discharge.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute to ongoing patient care through education, and to support healthcare professionals with product knowledge they can use confidently in their day-to-day work.
